Research Interest
My research mainly focuses on mental health promotion, prevention of common mental disorders, stigma of social minorities, and personal recovery of mental illness. I am particularly interested in developing bite-size or low intensity psychological practices to promote human flourishing, increasing access of evidence-based practices to the public through technology, and customizing solutions/ strategies for each individual’s mental health needs. My team is also investigating how Buddhism-derived constructs (i.e., mindfulness, compassion, interconnectedness) may be applied towards the promotion of social justice and collective well-being and understanding their mechanisms of change in order to cultivate these qualities in the community.
StoryTaler Hong Kong Co Limited
The StoryTaler team has been popular at workshops in schools and corporates alike, with very personal sharing and training on stress management, communication and listening skills. Participants with mental health struggles are empowered to speak up and connect with each other.
The innovative and eye-catching posts on their social media page have attracted more than 40000 followers. Their interactive online course (under development) will be showing more public members the ropes of communicating with empathy in workplaces, schools and homes. Storytaler is working towards a mentally healthy community, where people talk less and listen more, respect differences, and carry each other through the lows in life.
